A closer look at announced World Cup squads so far

The 2018 FIFA World Cup may be one month away, but for many countries involved the toughest decisions still are yet to come. Preliminary rosters for 14 of the qualified countries were announced on Monday and will need to be trimmed to 23-men prior to June 14’s opening match in Russia.

With final friendlies coming in the near future, managers of all 32 nations will need to evaluate their talent to choose the best roster possible. Out of the 14 nations announced today, stars like Lionel Messi, Mohamed Salah, Christian Eriksen, and Robert Lewandowski have been chosen for their respective countries.

For the CONCACAF teams, Mexico and Panama announced preliminary squads while Costa Rica unveiled their final roster featuring several MLS regulars. Meanwhile, Brazil also confirmed a final squad featuring stars like Neymar, Philippe Coutinho and Gabriel Jesus.

The 2018 FIFA World Cup kicks off on June 14th and concludes on July 15th throughout Russia.
