Konrad De La Fuente is reporting close to signing a new contract with Barcelona.
According to ESPN, the two parties are in “advanced talks” due to De La Fuente’s current contract expiring in 2020. His release clause will be at least €75 million, according to the report.
The 18-year-old currently plays for the club’s Under-19 side, but is expected to get promoted to Barca’s B team in the near future. He made one appearance for the B team last season, but since has remained with the U-19’s.
De La Fuente has made 11 appearances in all competitions for Barcelona, scoring five goals including three in the UEFA Youth League. He represented the U.S. Under-20 Men’s National Team this summer at the U-20 World Cup, and in total has earned seven caps with the team.
Born in Miami, Fla, De La Fuente joined Barcelona’s La Masia academy in 2014. De La Fuente will become the latest youngster to commit his future to the La Liga club.

Its guys like him who could possibly feature in the next World Cup. Plenty of under 20 guys who no one is talking about as if they won’t be starters in 2 years. Pretty hilarious to say 65 year orld Bob Bradley will be starting and not any of our current prospects.

I haven’t forgotten this kid he has tremendous talent playing on the right a lot of dribbling skills just needed to cross balls more dangerously and juke players getting to cross balls into players in the box. He is young hoping to have him on our side in the future hope he chooses us over any possible nationality that could cap him. Honestly though I would leave barcelona for a good netherlands team. Konrad is Haitian-American. Crazier things have happened, but I doubt he will choose Haiti over the US. A lot of Haitian-Americans, in FLA, speak creole, but also are proficient in Spanish. It’s possible, he can choose Spain over US, because he’s a Spanish resident over 4 years… but he’s @ least got to make Barcelona’s 1st team.
He’s not going to choose Haiti who is dropping to NL B Division and will have to qualify for the next GC cup over the US. Spain isn’t going to call him until he’s a regular starter for Barca and that’s very very very unlikely to happen anytime soon.
