2022 has proven to be a lengthy chapter in the Milan Derby, and the battle for who the year belongs to is still very much undecided.
Wednesday marks the fourth and final time Inter Milan and Milan meet this season, and the rivalry has produced two ties and a slim win in the latter’s favor across all competitions, which does not leave a clear picture of who the better side actually is.
Wednesday’s Coppa Italia semifinal finale, which is locked in a scoreless tie, will go a long way in deciding who the kings of Italy will be when all is said and done. The winner should have the momentum to march on to glory in the Serie A ranks, where Inter and Milan have been neck-and-neck all year, too.
Milan is not the only city that will see a grudge match this week.
Premier League action is headlined by the Liverpool – Manchester United rivalry on Tuesday, and North West London Derby between Chelsea and Arsenal Wednesday.
Tyler Adams and RB Leipzig have a chance to make some history this year, and the path is more clear for his side than it probably expected. Leipzig is the favorite of the teams remaining in the German Cup and should be able to take care of business against Union Berlin in the semifinal on Wednesday.
