Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Rogers, Moore, and more

American defender Sam Rogers made his fifth-straight start for Norwegian side Rosenborg on Sunday, logging 90 minutes in the club’s third league win of the season.

Rogers continued to start for Rosenborg, delivering a strong overall performance in a 4-0 triumph over Valerenga. The Seattle Sounders homegrown defender won four of his nine duels, made three interceptions, two blocks, and six clearances as Rosenborg moved up to sixth place in the Eliteserien table. The 23-year-old Rogers has made a strong impression since his move from HamKam earlier this year and isn’t showing any signs of slowing down this summer for his new club.

In England, Ethan Horvath appeared off of the bench as Nottingham Forest defeated Huddersfield Town 1-0 to clinch Premier League promotion.

In Spain, Shaq Moore logged 90 minutes for Tenerife but the hosts fell 2-1 to Cartagena.
