Ian Harkes and Dundee United resumed their Scottish Premiership schedule on Saturday with the American midfielder making his first start in over one month for the club.
Harkes played 90 minutes in Saturday’s 2-2 draw with Hearts, his first 90 minute performance since Sept. 17. The 27-year-old won three of six duels, hit the crossbar once offensively, and made six recoveries for Liam Fox’s squad. However, a 94th minute equalizer for Hearts kept Dundee United rooted at the basement of the Premiership table with 13 points earned through 17 matches.
The Tangerines have only won three league matches this season and are 11 points back in the race for the top-six. Harkes has totaled 14 appearances for Dundee United this season, continuing his key role in the squad. The Tangerines next host Ross County on Wednesday in an important six-pointer at the bottom of the table.
Elsewhere in Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers started in Celtic’s win over St. Johnstone. Christian Ramirez featured off the bench for Aberdeen, but Jim Goodwin’s squad could not defeat St Mirren.
In Turkey, Haji Wright resumed his league season with Antalyaspor.
