Josh Sargent has been Norwich City’s top goalscorer during the English Football League Championship season and his strong week for the Canaries helped the club remain in the hunt for a promotion playoff spot.
Sargent scored his 11th league goal in Tuesday’s 3-1 win over Hull City before logging 45 minutes in a goal-less draw with Wigan Athletic. The U.S. men’s national team striker’s productive week helped him earn SBI Americans Abroad Player of the Week honors as he is tied with Antalyaspor’s Haji Wright for the most goals scored by a USMNT player this season.
Sargent scored the third and final goal in a 3-1 comeback victory over Hull City last week, giving him two goals so far in 2023. The 23-year-old did not find the back of the net against Wigan, but did win four duels and register two shots, continuing to play a large role under David Wagner.
Here is a look at some of the other top Americans Abroad performers from the past week:
Bryan Reynolds

21-year-old Bryan Reynolds may be linked with a permanent move away from AS Roma this summer, but for now the American fullback is excelling in Belgium with Westerlo.
Reynolds helped Westerlo defeat Sint-Truiden 1-0 on Sunday, creating the most chances by any player (4), and winning both of his defensive duels at right back. The USMNT defender has continued to start for Jonas De Roeck’s squad, which now sits seventh in the Belgian Pro League table through 26 matches played.
If Reynolds continues to play at a high level this season, there will be more than just clubs from England interested in him.
Ricardo Pepi

Ricardo Pepi continued to deliver for Dutch side FC Groningen, scoring his eighth Eredivisie goal in a 1-1 draw with FC Emmen on Saturday.
Pepi now has nine goals for the relegation-threatened side in all competitions, continuing to impress in the Netherlands and set the tone for what he hopes is a busy summer. Although FC Groningen continues to hang at the bottom of the Eredivisie table, Pepi is doing everything he can to keep the squad fighting until the final week.
Zack Steffen

Zack Steffen delivered a Man of the Match performance last week in a 3-1 road win over Sheffield United, continuing a strong winning run under boss Michael Carrick.
Steffen logged nine saves against the second-place Blades on Wednesday before totaling one save in Saturday’s 3-1 win over QPR. Middlesbrough sits only four points back of second-place Sheffield United for the final automatic promotion spot and Steffen has been a huge part of the club’s surge up the standings.
Tim Ream

Not many folks predicted Fulham to be knocking on the door of the top four in the English Premier League, but Tim Ream and Co. are exceeding many expectations this season.
Ream logged his latest 90 minutes in Fulham’s 1-0 road win over seventh place Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday. The 35-year-old centerback has totaled 2,158 minutes played in league action this season, continuing to play a major role in Marco Silva’s squad as Fulham extended its unbeaten run to five matches in all competitions.
Ream will certainly be hoping for inclusion into the USMNT’s March Nations League squad.
