Manchester City – RB Leipzig headlines This Week’s Soccer on TV

After successful domestic victories for both Manchester City and RB Leipzig, the two will face off in their UEFA Champions League second leg showdown.

The Citizens notched a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Saturday with lone goal scorer Erling Haaland notching his 28th goal of the campaign. RB Leipzig collected a comfortable three points in a 3-0 victory over Borussia Monchengladbach.

Despite Pep Guardiola and the Citizens success in recent years, the most coveted trophy in club football seems to elude them year after year. Marco Rose and company hope to prolong the Citizens wait for European glory another year by advancing to the quarterfinal round.

Liverpool’s UCL hopes remain slim, but Jurgen Klopp’s squad will leave it all on the field as the Reds visit Real Madrid. Los Blancos hold a 5-2 aggregate lead after steamrolling Liverpool at Anfield in February.

Across the pond at Subaru Park, the Philadelphia Union match up against El Salvadoran side Alianza FC in their second leg of the Concacaf Champions League Round of 16. The teams go into the match tied 0-0 on aggregate after a cagey affair in El Salvador last week. 

Around the globe second leg matches are taking place throughout the week as clubs chase glory and silverware in multiple tournaments.
