Tyler Adams’ hamstring injury has forced him to miss ample time for Leeds United and the American midfielder isn’t expected to help the Yorkshire club in their final three English Premier League matches this season.
Leeds United manager Sam Allardyce is not expecting to have Adams for the remainder of the league campaign. Adams has been sidelined since March following hamstring surgery, which also forced him to miss U.S. men’s national team duty as well that month.
“No, not that I believe. Sadly,” Allardyce said in reference to a possible Adams return this season.
The 24-year-old suffered the injury in preparation for Leeds’ 4-2 league win over Wolves on March 18 which forced him to miss USMNT duty. The USMNT proceeded to defeat Grenada 7-1 and El Salvador 1-0, punching its ticket into the Concacaf Nations League Final Four this summer.
Adams joined Leeds United last summer from RB Leipzig and has been one of the club’s top players during a hugely disappointing campaign. He has made 26 combined appearances for Leeds United, teaming up with fellow USMNT midfielders Weston McKennie and Brenden Aaronson.
Leeds United sits 19th in the EPL table, two points from safety with three matches left to play. The Lilywhites will host Newcastle United on Saturday before final matches against West Ham United (away) and Tottenham (home).
Looks like Timmy Tillman is filing his one time switch from Germany to The USMNT. I could see him in the Gold Cup team with his younger brother if Malick hammy is good to go by then. More depth at the attacking 8 position is always a good thing. And Timmy Tillman can play multiple attacking positions like his brother.
We just have to find more depth behind Tyler Adams.
Yeah, with that final three matches for the season THEY ARE DONE! They will need a miracle to survive the drop.
