McGlynn, Kamungo, Reynolds headline USMNT U-23’s November roster

The U.S. Under-23 men’s national team will continue its Olympic preparations this month with a pair of matches against Iraq and Morocco respectively.

Jack McGlynn, Bernard Kamungo, and Bryan Reynolds headlined Marko Mitrovic’s 20-player roster for November’s camp in San Pedro del Pinatar, Spain. The Americans will face Iraq on Nov. 18 before concluding its schedule against Morocco on Nov. 21.

This marks the second USMNT U-23 camp since Mitrovic’s promotion to his new role.

Kamungo, John Tolkin, and Cade Cowell all recently had their MLS seasons conclude in the league playoffs. McGlynn, Nathan Harriel, John Pulskamp, and Josh Atencio all remain in the MLS Cup Playoffs with their respective clubs.

Eight players on the November roster have been capped by the USMNT, including Gianluca Busio, Tanner Tessmann, and Reynolds.

Forward Agustin Anello earns his first call-up at any level with the United States. The 21-year-old has appeared in seven of 12 league matches this season for Sparta Rotterdam in the Dutch Eredivisie.

The United States qualified for the 2024 Olympics after the Under-20’s registered a dominant performance at the 2022 Concacaf U-20 Championship in Honduras. A semifinal victory over the Hondurans clinched the Americans berth into Paris 2024.

    • -Neal is hurt
-perhaps RSL said no if we are still in the playoffs and USSF couldn’t wait, since a lot of these guys are traveling from US.

    • 1) i have seen a pro team (chelsea) have 2 keeper injuries in one game and get down to its third choice keeper, and you’re one injury from too few keepers to even scrimmage right; 2) part of the point to these windows is to take a look at multiple people in games and practices. to me this “2 keeper” or “5 forward” stuff assumes what we hold the windows to prove.

      • Could it happen yes. How often does it happen? If your answer is I saw it happen once… it’s a strange time of year, Schulte is a starter so he was probably the 3rd until Crew advanced. I’m sure there’s a 3rd option if both get hurt in training or first game, but MLS Next has been off for awhile so not necessary to bring a kid from vacation just on the off chance two keepers go down. I know it’s your thing to always complain about something but this is pretty minor.
