Report: Ethan Horvath on Hull City’s shortlist for January move

Ethan Horvath’s lack of playing time during the first half of the English Premier League season is certainly a worry, but the American could very well be on the move this winter to get back to his best.

English Football League Championship side Hull City have named Horvath on their shortlist as a potential acquisition this month, The Telegraph reported Wednesday. Horvath, who was left out of Nottingham Forest’s EPL roster for the first half of the season, has not featured since preseason camp last summer.

The 28-year-old spent last season on loan at then-Championship side Luton Town, helping the Hatters earn promotion to the top flight. Horvath made 51 combined appearances for the Hatters, registering 20 clean sheets and finishing the campaign as one of the top goalkeepers in the second-tier.

Horvath ultimtely has struggled for playing time at Nottingham Forest, making only 11 appearances since his arrival in 2021. Prior to his move to England, Horvath featured for Belgian side Club Brugge and Norwegian side Molde.

The Colorado native has earned nine caps for the USMNT, last featuring in a 4-0 friendly win over Oman last September.

Hull City sit ninth in the EFL Championship and most recently suffered FA Cup elimination midweek against Birmingham City. Ryan Allsop has made 19 appearances for Hull City while Matt Ingram has featured in 12 matches of his own.

The Tigers face Sunderland on Friday in their final match of January.
