Donovan Pines scores in back-to-back matches for Barnsley

Donovan Pines is enjoying a positive start to life in England.

Pines scored for the second-consecutive match on Tuesday as Barnsley tied Bolton Wanderers 2-2 at Oakwell. The former DC United defender made the switch to the English League One side this winter and earned his third-straight start on Tuesday night.

After John McAtee gave Barnsley a 1-0 lead, Pines doubled the hosts advantage two minutes into the second half. Pines’ right-footed shot off a corner kick in the Bolton box found the top-right corner for a 2-0 Barnsley lead.

However, Bolton would battle box for one point through second-half goals from Victor Adeboyejo and Randell Williams. It capped off a thrilling match between two of the top-four clubs in League One.

Pines won nine duels, made five clearances, and three recoveries from his centerback position. The 25-year-old has now made four appearances for Neill Collins’ squad.

Barnsley, who now sits three points out of the final promotion playoff spot, hosts Lincoln City on March 9.
