PSV looks to have found its longterm right back for the Eredivisie season.
Richie Ledezma made his second-straight start in Peter Bosz’s squad as PSV defeated Heracles 3-1 on Sunday. The 23-year-old played 73 minutes at right back, completing 88% of his passes, winning six duels, and completing a match-high three tackles. Ledezma left the match early with cramps, a source close to the player confirmed to SBI, and isn’t expected to miss ample time.
Despite falling down early on the road, PSV rallied in the second half thanks to an own goal from Ivan Mesik, and additional tallies from Johan Bakayoko and Couhaib Driouech.
PSV next travels to Almere City on August 24, seeking to make it three-consecutive league victories to begin their title defense. A healthy and confident Ledezma would be a major boost for PSV throughout the entire campaign.
In England, Antonee Robinson and Fulham lost at Manchester United. Haji Wright scored twice for Coventry City. Josh Sargent scored once and assisted once in Norwich City’s draw.
In Italy, Yunus Musah helped AC Milan earn one point at home against Torino.
In Germany, several American players advanced in the DFB Pokal competition including Joe Scally, Lennard Maloney, and Jordan Pefok.
In France, Caleb Wiley made his Strasbourg debut in Ligue 1 play.
Elsewhere, Richie Ledezma retained his spot at right back for PSV but left the match with an apparent injury. Paxten Aaronson assisted once in FC Utrecht’s draw.

PSV down to two fullbacks (counting Richie) and they both left Sunday with “injuries”. Remains to be seen if Earnie signs another defender before the end of the window or if the just pull up someone from the youth team.
Really annoyed we cant comment on the Esmir article. Just because some people go on long preston zimmerman like rants about people not being truly American does not mean we all should not be punished :(. I wish the kid the best he will get some good interest in Europe. Glad to see Richie back with PSV and Haji scoring. Also Jonny Cardoso came on as a sub for Betis last Thursday
I did not make it ineligible to comment on?
There’s no “Leave a Comment” box on that article. A mystery!
Apparently both Esmir and his dad said they both always wanted him to represent Bosnia. I don’t know how true that is. He could possibly have helped the US in the future, but much like Julian Araujo if he felt that strongly about his parents country not much to really be done.
Gio did play in a closed door friendly with a third tier team with the “reserves” of BVB. They lost 4-0.
Some good.performances this weekend.
Good to see Paxten Aaronson on the stats sheet this weekend.
