Not many clubs have been able to leave Turf Moor with points this season but Lynden Gooch and Stoke City did just that on Wednesday.
Gooch started and played 90 minutes as the Potters earned one point in a 0-0 draw with Burnley in EFL Championship play. The veteran defender has continued to play a leading role for Stoke City this season with Ryan Shawcross managing his final match as interim head coach.
With Mark Robins beginning his spell as manager this weekend, Gooch will aim to keep his starting left back job. The former Sunderland defender brings valuable experience to the squad and the Potters will need it to avoid relegation this season.
Stoke City sits four points clear of the bottom three heading into Saturday’s crucial bottom-six clash with Plymouth Argyle.
In England, Brenden Aaronson and Leeds United tied Blackburn Rovers. Donovan Pines and Barnsley earned a crucial home victory over Wrexham.
In Scotland, Cameron Carter-Vickers and Celtic suffered a derby loss to rivals Rangers.
