Cameron Carter-Vickers will play no part in Celtic or the U.S. men’s national team’s remaining 2025 schedule.
Carter-Vickers will miss ‘three to five months’ with an Achilles injury, Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers confirmed Friday. The American defender played the full 90 minutes on Thursday as Celtic rallied to defeat Sturm Graz 2-1 in UEFA Europa League play.
However, Carter-Vickers was seen struggling late in the match and Rodgers confirmed the new injury ahead of the club’s Scottish Premiership action this weekend.
“He looks like he’s done his Achilles, which could be anywhere between three and five months,” Rodgers told Sky Sports ahead of Celtic’s match against league-leading Hearts. “We just await confirmation of that. It’s not great news.
“Cameron’s been a very important part of the squad, of course, and been a great centre-half for the club,” Rodgers added.
Carter-Vickers has made 13 appearances this season for Celtic in all competitions. The 27-year-old in total has featured for the club in 182 matches, winning nine trophies in Glasgow, including four Premiership titles.
He was part of the USMNT squad for October’s home friendlies against Ecuador and Australia, but did not feature in either match. Carter-Vickers’ new injury will officially rule him out of November’s USMNT window, home matches against Paraguay and Uruguay on Nov. 15 and 18 respectively.
Celtic sits five points back of Hearts heading into Sunday’s trip to Tynecastle. Carter-Vickers’ absence could force fellow USMNT defender Auston Trusty into the starting lineup.

Well, that is one less difficult choice to make for the World Cup squad.
Hope he gets better soon. Those are tough. CCV has been a good professional for Celtic. It was nice for him to find a home after bouncing around a bit and not finding good footing with a club.
