Americans Abroad Weekend Rewind: Aaronson, Agyemang, and more

Leeds United suffered a road loss at The City Ground on Sunday but Brenden Aaronson finished as one of the better performers on the day.

Aaronson assisted once in Leeds United’s 3-1 road loss to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. The U.S. men’s national team midfielder played 74 minutes in the match, teaming up with Lukas Nmecha for the visitors lone goal of the match.

Aaronson also won eight duels and drew four fouls, delivering one of his better performances of the season. Despite Aaronson’s best efforts, Leeds United saw its early lead slip away, falling to 16th in the league standings.

Daniel Farke’s squad are one point clear of the bottom-three heading into the November international break.

Aaronson will now head back to the U.S. for international duty, seeking to stay fit and healthy.

In England, Patrick Agyemang scored his second league goal of the campaign for Derby County. Alyssa Thompson scored a stellar first WSL goal of her Chelsea career. Antonee Robinson continued to miss out for Fulham through injury.

In Italy, Christian Pulisic made his long-awaited return in AC Milan’s draw with Parma. Weston McKennie and Juventus earned one point in a Turin Derby draw with Torino.

In Germany, Joe Scally went the distance in Borussia Moenchengladbach’s home win over FC Koln. Malik Tillman and Bayer Leverkusen rolled past FC Heidenheim. Julian Green and Maxi Dietz helped Greuther Furth to three points in 2. Bundesliga play.

In France, Folarin Balogun scored but was also sent off in Monaco’s home loss to Lens. Timothy Weah was an unused substitute in Marseille’s home victory. Lindsey Heaps scored once in Lyon’s dominant road win.

Elsewhere, Richie Ledezma assisted twice in Chivas’ Liga MX victory over Monterrey. Bryan Reynolds played at left back in Westerlo’s road loss to Sporting Charleroi. Rokas Pukstas and Hajduk Split defeated rivals Osijek in Croatian league play. Donovan Pines and Grazer lost on the road to Austria Vienna.
