We are eight months away until the start of the 2026 FIFA World Cup and close to half of the qualified spots have been claimed.
A total of 42 of the 48 spots for next summer’s tournament have been determined, with another six still up for grabs over the next few months. The U.S. men’s national team, Canada, and Mexico automatically earned spots as hosts for the competition while 45 other nations competed through World Cup Qualifying in order to join them.
From defending tournament holders Argentina to first-time participants Jordan and Uzbekistan, there will be no shortage of talent at the World Cup next summer.
Spain, Norway, Scotland, and Croatia were among the nations to recently book their spots in the competition. Erling Haaland’s stellar qualifying run helped Norway to their first berth since 1998 while Scotland’s dramatic 4-2 victory over Denmark also propelled them to the summer tournament.
Curacao made history as the smallest nation to qualify for the World Cup, edging Jamaica to top spot in Group B of CONCACAF’s final round of qualifying.

Tx: Look at the date stamp. Larry just edited his story from October with the up to date list, so all the previous comments from October are still there.
Same here. Don’t know why SBI posted that from October, 13….haha!!!
I’m assuming it’s easier for Larry to just edit his post with the new countries than recreate the whole thing. It happens with the WC Roster predictions too. Why recreate the wheel when he just needs to update a couple things. Larry’s a one man gang around here people should cut him some slack.
