The 2026 MLS Draft took place on Thursday with 90 selections being made over three rounds.
NC State’s Nikola Markovic was the No. 1 pick in the draft, joining DC United for the next chapter in his career. FC Dallas made the No. 2 and 3 picks on Thursday, selecting Ricky Louis from Georgia Southern and Nicholas Simmonds from the University of Virginia.
Eight goalkeepers were taken in total, with ample of those picks coming in the final round. A total of 33 selections were made following trades that either took place on Thursday or in prior transactions between MLS clubs.
Clemson University and North Carolina State University led the way with four players being drafted from each program.
The Colorado Rapids, FC Dallas, and Real Salt Lake made the most draft picks with six selections apiece.
