Ricardo Pepi scored in PSV’s Eredivisie return on Saturday but did not finish the match on the field.
Pepi left the match with a diagnosed broken arm, the club announced after its 5-1 victory over Excelsior. The American forward is scheduled to have surgery on Sunday and is expected to miss two months due to the injury.
Pepi scored PSV’s second goal of a four-goal first half on Saturday in Eindhoven, taking his season tally up to 10 in all competitions. The 23-year-old though suffered the injury after falling awkwardly after his goal celebration.
He was subsequently substituted and watched the rest of the match from the sidelines.
PSV moved 14 points clear atop the league table with the victory while fellow American Sergino Dest played 90 minutes at right back. Pepi’s injury comes at a crucial time in PSV’s season and two months ahead of the U.S. men’s national team’s next window of matches against Portugal and Belgium.
PSV manager Peter Bosz voiced his frustration for Pepi, who missed parts of the 2024-25 campaign due to a knee issue.
“It didn’t look good right away and at such a moment you prefer to look the other way,” said Bosz in a club postmatch interview. “Last January, Ricardo was already out due to his knee injury. It won’t take that long now, but unfortunately we lost it again. Pepi was well on his way, had a strong training camp behind him and was all the way back. He became more confident in finishing and was again in that good flow. All the signals were green for a strong second half of the season, so this is very annoying. First for him and of course for us too.”
Winners of its last four matches in all competitions, PSV will resume its KNVB Cup schedule on Wednesday at FC Den Bosch.

Mid to late March time frame. Will probably not be a part of the March Window. Looks like big Pat or if Downs catches fire will be in line fir that window.
Well that should quiet the transfer talk.
