Report: Weston McKennie to sign multi-year contract extension with Juventus

Weston McKennie will reportedly extend his stay with Italian club Juventus.

McKennie has agreed to a multi-year contract extension with the Bianconeri until June 2030, Italian outlet Gazzetta Dello Sport reported Tuesday. Personal terms have also been agreed between McKennie and the club, with an expected announcement set to come later this week, according to the report.

The U.S. men’s national team midfielder’s contract was originally set to expire at the end of the current campaign. Despite being linked with multiple exits over the past few seasons, McKennie has remained a key player for Juventus.

Since originally joining on loan in September 2020, McKennie has made 218 appearances for Juventus across all competitions. He’s scored 25 goals and added 24 assists, featuring in numerous positions on the field.

McKennie has helped Juventus reach the UEFA Champions League playoff round, as well as remain in the Serie A top-four picture this season.

However, Luciano Spalletti will hope that McKennie can help spark a Juventus second-leg comeback on Wednesday against Turkish club Galatasaray. The Bianconeri are trailing 5-2 on aggregate after suffering a disappointing loss on the road last week and are without a victory in their last five matches overall.
