Americans Abroad Midweek Preview: Musah, Cardoso, and more

Atalanta has already ousted one Bundesliga club from this season’s UEFA Champions League and will be seeking to eliminate another in the Round of 16.

Yunus Musah and his Atalanta teammates will welcome reigning Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich to Bergamo on Tuesday night. Musah has started to find his groove for the Serie A club, scoring in two of his last three appearances.

The U.S. men’s national team midfielder had found playing time hard to come by over the fall, but now looks to have a new opportunity as spring approaches. Musah will be looking to pick up as much playing time possible, with the FIFA World Cup three months away, and his U.S. men’s national team chances getting slimmer.

A strong run of form over the next few weeks could be exactly what Musah needs to boost his stock for club and country.

Elsewhere in Europe, Chris Richards and Crystal Palace host AEK Larnaca in Conference League play. Tanner Tessmann and Lyon take on Celta Vigo in Europa League action.

In England, Patrick Agyemang and Derby County take on Millwall. Haji Wright and Coventry City face Preston North End.

In France, Lindsey Heaps and Lyon resume their French domestic schedule against Le Havre.

In North America, Alex Zendejas and Club America visit the Philadelphia Union in CONCACAF Champions Cup play.
