Antoine Griezmann will become the newest international star to take his talents to MLS.
Griezmann has signed with Orlando City through the 2027-28 campaign, the Eastern Conference club announced Tuesday. The French international will officially make the move in July 2026, joining the Lions as a Designated Player.
His contract will also include an option for the 2028-29 season as well.
“I am very excited to begin this next chapter of my career with Orlando City,” said Griezmann. “From my first conversations with the Club, I could feel a strong ambition and a clear vision for the future, and that really spoke to me. I look forward to making Orlando my new home, meeting the supporters, feeling the energy at Inter&Co Stadium, and giving everything I have to help the team achieve great things.”
Griezmann currently remains a key part of the Atletico Madrid squad in Spain. The 35-year-old has logged 13 goals and four assists across all competitions in Diego Simeone’s squad.
In total, Griezmann has tallied 298 goals and 132 assists across 792 professional appearances with Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Sociedad. His club achievements include winning the 2017-18 UEFA Europa League, the 2018 UEFA Super Cup and the 2014 Spanish SuperCup, and the 2020-21 Copa del Rey.
At the international level, Griezmann is a former central figure for the French national team. He helped lead Les Blues lift the 2018 FIFA World Cup as well as win the 2020-21 UEFA Nations League title. His 44 international goals are ranked as the fourth-most in French national team history while has also contributed 38 assists across 137 caps.
Orlando City most recently suffered a 5-0 hammering at the hands of Nashville SC, dropping them to 1-4-0 in MLS play this season. The Lions also parted ways with longtime head coach Oscar Pareja earlier this year.
