Americans Abroad Player of the Week: Ricardo Pepi

Eredivisie champions PSV made it back-to-back wins to begin its April schedule with Ricardo Pepi getting back on the scoresheet once again.

Pepi scored his 11th league goal of the season in PSV’s 2-0 road victory over Sparta Rotterdam on Saturday. The U.S. men’s national team forward earned SBI Americans Abroad honors for his impactful start and showing.

Pepi delivered the breakthrough goal for Peter Bosz’s men before halftime, rising high to head home Guus Til’s cross into the back of the net. It marked Pepi’s 13th goal of the season in all competitions and his fourth of 2026.

Ismael Saibari would seal the three points for PSV with 10 minutes to play, giving them a 24th league victory of the campaign.

Pepi played 82 minutes from the No. 9 position, adding another valuable start under his belt this spring.

The 23-year-old will have four further opportunities to rack up minutes for PSV as the league campaign pushes towards its conclusion. A strong end of the season could prove crucial for Pepi in his fight to move up higher in Mauricio Pochettino’s depth chart.

Here is a closer look at this week’s top Americans Abroad performances:

Christian Pulisic

AC Milan endured one of its worst performances of the season on Saturday, but not Christian Pulisic.

Pulisic started and played 72 minutes in Saturday’s 3-0 home defeat to Udinese, creating three offensive chances, winning nine duels, and drawing one foul. Although Pulisic’s goal-less drought extended to 16 matches for club and country, he was one of the few bright spots for Milan on Saturday.

Folarin Balogun

It is seven-consecutive Ligue 1 appearances with a goal now for Folarin Balogun.

Balogun scored Monaco’s lone goal on Friday despite a 4-1 road loss to Paris FC. The USMNT forward now has 17 goals on the season in all competitions, continuing a blistering run of form in 2026.

Balogun will be pushing to eclipse the 20+ goal mark by season’s end as Monaco seeks to finish in the top-three.

Alex Zendejas

Alex Zendejas’ goal contribution drought was snapped on Saturday.

Zendejas assisted once in Club America’s 1-1 Liga MX draw with Cruz Azul, giving the attacker his first goal or assist since March 7. The 28-year-old teed up Patricio Salas for Club America’s opener before Cruz Azul earned a share of the spoils.

Zendejas is now up to 14 goal contributions this season in Andre Jardine’s squad.

Jonathan Tomkinson

English fourth-tier side Cheltenham Town have sealed League Two safety following Saturday’s road win over Walsall.

American defender Jonathan Tomkinson delivered one of his best performances of the season, logging 90 minutes in the 4-0 result. Tomkinson won seven duels, made three interceptions, four recoveries, and two clearances.

Tomkinson has now made 33 appearances for the club this season, a career-best in a single campaign.
