Austrian Bundesliga club LASK celebrated not only its first trophy lift in 61 years but two.
George Bello and Sam Adeniran helped LASK capture its first Bundesliga title since 1965 on Sunday after the club defeated Austria Vienna 3-0 in their season finale. The result also clinched LASK a spot into next season’s UEFA Champions League playoff round, their first involvement in the competition since 2019-20.
Xavier Mbuyamba gave LASK a 1-0 lead before halftime before Adeniran’s penalty-kick finish two minutes into the second half gave the visitors some breathing room.
Melayro Bogarde iced the result with 14 minutes to play, giving LASK a 17th league victory of the campaign.
Both Bello and Adeniran played the full 90 minutes in the road win, which extended LASK’s unbeaten run to nine matches (all competitions).
The 24-year-old Bello scored three goals and added four assists in 33 appearances this season while Adeniran scored 14 goals and contributed five assists in 35 appearances. It is the first league titles for both players, who are two of the three American players in the Austrian top-flight (Donovan Pines, Grazer AK).
LASK will now enter a well-deserved offseason break before beginning their 2026-27 schedule in August.

That Belo kid is one of our own #ATLUTD
Kid is just reaching 24. I wonder if he’s got another level in his game…Would a moved to another league help him develop more of his attacking sensibilities? I always thought he might be one of those attacking left VAX since he played attacking midfield coming up.
On the other hand, could Samuel get a look in a camp before the World Cup?
The roster is announced May 26 and camp starts on May 27 so no I don’t think Sam will get a pre-WC camp.
Nice! Good job boys.
