The first North London Derby of the 2023-24 English Premier League season headlines this weekend’s Soccer on TV.
Fourth-place Arsenal hosts second-place Tottenham on Sunday in the headlining match in England this weekend. Both teams enter the showdown level on 13 points and a 4-1-0 record through five league matches.
The Gunners are fresh off a 4-0 UEFA Champions League group stage victory over PSV while Tottenham has not played since Saturday.
Heung-Min Son has registered three goals in league play so far this season for Spurs while Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka, and Martin Odegaard all have two goals apiece in league play for Arsenal.
Rivalry weekend continues in Europe when Real Madrid clashes with Atletico Madrid in La Liga action.
Real Madrid is undefeated in its first five matches of the 23-24′ campaign. In addition, Los Blancos also won their UEFA Champions League opener midweek, topping Union Berlin 1-0. Atletico Madrid conceded a late equalizer in its UCL match, succumbing to a 1-1 draw with Lazio.
In France, Paris Saint-Germain takes on third-place Marseille in Le Classique. The French Champions kicked off their UCL campaign midweek, topping Borussia Dortmund 2-0.
PSG are currently in fifth place after dropping points to Nice last weekend.
Major League Soccer regular season play resumes with two matches cracking SBI’s top-five matches this weekend. In Orlando, Inter Miami travels to Exploria Stadium to take on Orlando City in the Florida Derby.
The Lions hold the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference ahead of its clash with the Herons. Lionel Messi and Jordi Alba are set to miss out for the Herons after suffering midweek injuries.
A rematch of last season’s MLS Cup Final takes place from Subaru Park as the Philadelphia Union welcomes Los Angeles FC to Chester. LAFC has won two of its seven all-time meetings with the Union, while four of the last showdowns overall have ended in ties.
