Dutch giants PSV has three American players on its books this season and will reportedly be welcoming a fourth back at the start of the 2024.
Richie Ledezma is expected back in Eindhoven at the conclusion of his loan spell with MLS club NYCFC, Dutch outlet ED reported Tuesday. Ledezma’s loan spell is set to expire on December 31, which means he will return to his parent club PSV for the second half of the league campaign.
The 23-year-old joined NYCFC earlier this year and proceeded to register five assists in 23 MLS appearances. He started in 14 of his 23 appearances, logging 1,189 minutes of action in league play.

Ledezma previously came through the ranks at Real Salt Lake’s academy before moving to PSV in January 2019. He has made 23 first team appearances for the Eredivisie giants, logging one goal and one assist.
Injuries have plagued Ledezma’s time in Holland, which eventually led to his loan spell in MLS. After a positive spell with NYCFC, the attacking midfielder will now fight to be part of PSV’s plans for the remainder of the season.
PSV is undefeated in Eredivisie play (16-0-0) and will face Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 next February. Sergino Dest, Malik Tillman, and Ricardo Pepi have all played key roles for Peter Bosz’s squad across all competitions this season.
Proof Earnie Stewart hangs out on SBI message boards. I ask if anyone has heard what’s going to happen to Richie and then a day or two later and PSV is announcing his return. I watched a few of his early matches with NYCFC and he certainly had moments but NYCFC was a mess and his production was nothing to write home about by the end 0g 4a 27app overall. He was played as a false 9 for a good stretch of the season. Honestly PSV has so many weapons he could definitely step in and look good, but I imagine he’ll be either at Jong PSV or loaned somewhere.
Should we try to guess his username?
Got to be 2tone, always positive about the NT, just commented that Dest and Tillman should stay at PSV for the foreseeable future.
JR, probably easier to pick who ot isn’t. Doh!!
Yes they should stay at PSV.
Hard to see Ledezma breaking in at PSV, though.
