Steffen had fallen pray to trying to be something he isn’t. While he may not be the “old school keeper” Yarbourough is, he is not Ederson…and that is what he has been trying to be. The old saying of “play within yourself” would be good advice for Steffen. Accept your limits and play as well as you can within them. When he does that he is in the running to be the US #1. When he tries to be Ederson he falls outside the top five. Ambition has cost him confidence which has cost him Europe.
