While MLS Cup takes centerstage in the U.S., plenty of Americans Abroad should see the field over the weekend with their respective club teams.

A limited Friday is headlined by an in-form Timmy Chandler, who joins Eintracht Frankfurt for a clash with Hoffenheim in Bundesliga play. German action rolls into Sunday as Christian Pulisic and Borussia Dortmund face off with Cologne while Bobby Wood’s Hamburg hosts Augsburg.

In England, Bob Bradley looks to help further Swansea City’s chances of staying up in a clash with a fellow relegation contender in Sunderland. Americans collide in the English championship, as a clash between DeAndre Yedlin’s Newcastle and Jonathan Spector’s Birmingham City headlines second division action.

Elsewhere, Perry Kitchen and Hearts face Scottish powerhouse Rangers, Ventura Alvarado and Club America begin the Club World Cup and Andrew Wooten looks to continue his goalscoring form in 2. Bundesliga action.

  1. Jack McBean and Coventry City travel to Southend United on Saturday. The Sky Blues currently sit one point in front of Gboly Ariyibi and Chesterfield in 21st place in League One. McBean has played in the last four Coventry matches across all competitions.

  2. So Club America plays Sunday and Wednesday for sure and if they win Sunday’s match they are assured of a match on the following Sunday. They then fly back from Japan to host Tigres in the Apertura Final first leg on that Thursday. I’m going to go out on a limb here and say they aren’t going to try very hard to win against Joebuk so they can come home four days sooner.
