  1. Sorry, I have an update here.

Roy Hodgson said in his preview of Aston Villa and what happened in the transfer window. In that interview, RH says that EJ will likely NOT feature on Sunday because he won’t finish his physical until Saturday morning.

  2. Cicero-
I’d say that you may see EJ, but since the Nevland deal went through, he will be match fit and more likely to get the start. But that is not to say that he will not come in somewhere during the game. With his pace it might be a nice thing to bring on late to give Aston Villa defenders a run for their money.

EJ had to wait until the work permit got straightened out, then had to fly back to the States to get the rest of his papers in order for the work permit and then flew back on Thursday. So he’s probably a bit knackered and not match fit yet. But again, we may see him late.

If you watch the game, make sure you watch new signing Andreason as he is the fist D midfielder Fulham have had in a while and something they’ve been lack all year. He totally changed the way Fulham played last weekend in a very positive way. And that was in his first match! Also, look in the weeks to come for Dempsey to drop back into midfield. RH knows he’s had to use Dempsey out of position and quite frankly Clint has struggled the last several weeks and looks tired.

On the downside, I’d say your going to see a lot less of Carlos Bocanegra.

Also, don’t know that you heard, but Mc Bride played 90 minutes in a reserve game at Motspur this past Wed. and scored a goal according to the official site and the Times online.

  4. I’m happy to see the Germans playing again. One thing I’ve enjoyed is their habit of the stadium announcer saying the first name of a home player and the crowd shouting the last name. Not on the field related but I just love the atmosphere.

  5. Looks like a pretty good weekend… I couldn’t help looking ahead to all the ridiculously great international friendlies being played this week…
Italy vs. Portugal, France vs. Spain, England vs. Switzerland, Brazil vs. Ireland, Netherlands vs. Croatia. Jeez… unfortunately, it looks like U.S. vs. Mexico and the England game are the only ones being televised here (I don’t have Setanta).
