The long English Premier League season is winding down to a close and this weekend will feature the match that could determine the EPL champion.

Leaders Manchester United travel to Chelsea on Saturday with a chance to essentially lock up the title with a victory. Chelsea will look to pull even with Manchester United with a victory, which would make the final two weeks of the season VERY interesting.

This weekend’s schedule of matches begin with Man U-Chelsea, but there are plenty of other quality match-ups. Here is the SBI Top Five matches to watch this weekend:

  • Manchester United at Chelsea. Yes, it’s at 7am, and its on Setanta, but these are the games you wake up early for.
  • Aston Villa at Everton. A place in the UEFA Cup hangs in the balance as the red-hot Villains look to catch the reeling Toffees.
  • Schalke 04 at Hamburg. A win can help Hamburg catch Schalke for the final Champions League berth in the Bundesliga.
  • Reading at Wigan. Marcus Hahnemann and the Royals need a win, or at least a draw here, to stay out of the relegation zone.
  • Chivas USA at Los Angeles Galaxy. Yes, both teams have struggled badly this year, but there’s no way there aren’t goals scored in this game.

  1. Don’t know. Resting him, I suspect. He was looking a little ragged in the Barca game.

Sorry to be a bother but does anyone have a decent internet feed for the game?

  2. Possibly dumb question – is telefutura programming the same nationally? I’m in DC, and my (RCN) guide doesn’t list the RB – SJ game on Sunday… here’s to hoping the guide is wrong.

  3. I live in NYC and get HDNet on RCN (like above, as part of the HD package for $5 a month, which gives me most of my HD channels). Love watching soccer in HD so their game is usually the match I make sure to see each weekend.

  4. “F*(&ing HDNET!!! why do they even have games?? how many MLS’ers actually sport this channel??”

I get it in Columbus, part of the standard HD packaging that gets me local HD channels, the ESPN’s, TNT, etc…

  5. @ eric. I’ve got Time Warner too. Not sure how it works in your area, but I pay $5/mo. extra for the Spanish tier, which gives me GolTV in Spanish. (And ESPN Deportes and Fox Sports EspaƱol.) Not too bad a deal.

  6. Saturday is weak on FSC but Sunday is solid, I’m looking forward to the Roma/Inter double header, we’ll see if Roma is done without Totti.

My only problem with HDNet is there is nothing else worthwhile to watch. I’ve got Time Warner and at least HDNet is an option, I just don’t feel like paying extra (again) for 1 more game a week. GolTV isn’t even an option.

  7. I’m in the chicago area and get HDNet on RCN without purchasing any additional packages. Actually I love all the programming on HDNet and especially the HD soccer. Keep it coming MLS and go get RCN Brett

  8. Einar- ur missing my point…how many people have that channel?? it cant get that great of ratings… i dont care about the commentating, i care about actually seeing the game…. no pubs have HDNET around here…. its not worth me getting…. and HDNET doesnt allow streaming nor highlight clips (from what ive seen)

all n’ all they can keep showing games, just stop showing fire games on it… cant even watch it on b/c its on there >:(

  9. HDnet should keep have games there becuz it has better sound and commentators than FSC becuz all u here from FSC are the voices which stupidly louder than the sound in the stadium everytime.

  10. F*(&ing HDNET!!! why do they even have games?? how many MLS’ers actually sport this channel?? arg… and from past exp. its tough just to see the highlights, and dont expect it to be on the internet >:(

  11. How bout some love for the USL. Start the weekend off right with Atlanta vs Montreal on Friday night on FSC. MLS title game preview 2025.
