Good evening folks. The SuperLiga tournament resumes today with two more matches in what has already been an exciting tournament.
D.C. United plays host to Atlante (8pm, Telefutura), which is coming off a 4-0 drubbing by the Houston Dynamo. Chivas de Guadalajara will be in Houston tonight to face the Dynamo (10 p.m, Telefutura).
If you will be watching tonight’s matches please feel free to share your thoughts, opinions and some play-by-play in the comments setion below.
Enjoy the matches.
And there it is. Houston and DC both lose at home to preseason Mexican teams. MLS blows!
Well, it’s not like Houston didn’t have their chances to score, the Guad. keeper was awsome.
Good passion tonight in Houston.
Wrong team won. Plain and simple.
The ref’s been awful, but the reason Houston has lost is because they can’t create quality chances to score – ala CHIVAS. VAMOS MEXICANOS!!!
Houston dodged a bullet there, but this one is pretty much over anyway…
Luis Michel is playing an amazing game
screaming for a real striker who can finish!
Houston fans definitely have a right to call officiating into question.
Chivas seems very adept at killing the clock.
This could be 0-2 tonight for MLS…UGLY. Sad thing is that the Mexicans have not even outplayed the MLS sides – difference is they can finish.

Wow, these Chivas players are dirty.
There is your All Star keeper. Yep.
This is annoying. Chivas has been better for a total of 2 minutes and 4 seconds of this game, and lead 1-0 for the work and result of about 7 seconds of that time
Goal Chivas – assist Dynamo.
Was it for a handball on the first Dynamo touch?
From the reference of the Mexican U-17 World Cup winners of 2005, to the obligitory reference of the fact that they couldn’t even make the Olympics this year.
Ah, good times.
Has anyone done a seperated at birth of Magallon and Oswaldo “Dirty” Sanchez?
Magallon looks like a Mexican version of Alfred E Newman.
Blake, Dynamo have injuries galore. Ching, Holden, Mulrooney, etc.
An early yellow for Rico isn’t a good sign – he’s either going to play soft for the entire second half or get himself a red.
Wait, Ashe gets a yellow but he doesn’t? Really? Now you’re just not even making sense anymore.
Haha – Dom Kinear to the ref: “No, you sit down!”
Chivas look tired…must have been the quarter-final Clausura finish. Too much time off?
Really? A yellow for a light tug/hold-up? Not enough for a card.
Wait, I know why DeRo isn’t playing, but why are they missing the 4 other starters?
The transfer is worth 21 million, and the contract (essentially, 3 years, 6.5 a year)
Barcelona forward Ronaldinho will sign for AC Milan on Wednesday in a deal that is worth €21 million
Houston should be very ashamed by the state of its pitch….ridiculous.
Robertson may not look that great, but the Dynamo sure do. They and Pachuca have by far been the most impressive so far this tournament.
Mr Boswell, your jock is over there still waiting for you.
DC isn’t necessarily eliminated. If there is a winner in the Houston/Chivas match and then Chivas beats Atlante and DC beats Houston, it will go to goal difference because 3 teams will be tied on 3 pts.
Nice effort by DC. Their defensive errors and poor goalkeeping were too costly.
Robertson Stadium looks even worse than it did on Saturday…
Essentially
so DC is eliminated?
I think Dyanchenko is Russian for turnover machine.
Nice goal, but they could use Ben Olsen, because for some reason, no one looks cooler grabbing a ball out of the net and running to the center circle than Ben Olsen
Rod Dyachenko is SO BAD. Why do they insist on letting him see the field?
Zach Wells got exposed big time on that one. He was too far off his line AND he was cheating to the near post.
3-1 now on a beautiful strike.
HT 2-1
DC is getting killed on counter attacks. Why does it seem they always seem so much slower than Mexican teams?
DCU is heating up
Francis Doe is the man — to think that NYRB cut Doe to bring in Oscar Etcheverry
An unrelated note, but important still, apparently Ronaldinho is going to Milan for a fee of 21 million euro, and up to 25 million. Reported on ESPN.
And in the words of Adam Spangler of TIAS, “And Arshavin is worth $50 million?”
pretty gol by dc
THAT is how you score a goal. Wow. Great possession, great ball work, great patience, great service, great finish, great goal.
Definitely not the crowd from saturday night.
stadium looks empty..english announcers so blah
Wow DC looks weak in the middle d.
