  1. Lol, Hey good job, SSFC. I know you guys are for real, I think my team needs to show up next time and play what we call the game

  2. I think graham was just here for comic relief. This was a wildly entertaining thread thanks to him. Kudos to Graham, you’re a comedic genius!

  3. Well, all I can say is that Liverpool match was utterly disappointing to lose at the end like that. Ego crushing sadness overwhelmed me. I sure hope Fulham can get past West Ham United for the 7th spot UEFA spot!!!

  4. Ive lost all hope in my team, and even the announcers of my team, great idea guys….lets nominate a defender for man of the match…because he scored his first goal, dont worry about the two he gave up that he shouldnt have.

    Saunders is terrible too…..

My LA galaxy are the Newcastle United of the MLS…all we need to do now is fire Arena and hire Cobi….

  5. dammit, I almost picked up Connor casey for my fantasy team this week. Anyone see how he managed to score in what’s being listed as the 0st minute?

And Gonzalez is on my bench. Looks like a week without goals is a definate possibility…

  6. guys, attendance will be down for everyone, in every sport this year, people are losing jobs left and right. The Yankees are having trouble selling seats at their new park, thirty buck tickets are a luxury for lots of folks now. The final four barely sold out, and there’s a team from Michigan in it. You’re going to see a lot of empty seats in a lot of stadia this summer and fall.

  8. sorry, i was reading the match report, and it said tfc had a sell out of 20,000+, so maybe the soccernet listing was wrong. id still be curious to see the attendance numbers for the games.

  9. in terms of attendance, numbers from the soccernet reports:
    toronto- seattle: 11,806
    dc-houston: 12,594
    new england- dallas: 11,314

i didnt get a chance to watch much of the games so i dont know about the atmosphere, and it understandably looks more full in a SSS as compared to rfk for example, but from a pure numbers standpoint, i wouldnt say that toronto- seattle are running away with the attendance lead.

  10. I’m AT the galaxy game, and the defense looks dreadful. They’re slower than the 405 at 5 on Fridays. You can actually hear Sanneh’s bones creak in the stands.

  11. Seattle looks impressive indeed, and at this point, kudos to Sigi.

However, I am not a Sigi believer. He has shown when he coaches offensively that he can be a really good coach. The problem is he always reverts back to his real self at the first sign of trouble. If Seattle gets a couple of bad results I hope they don’t have to suffer from super cautious and defensive Sigi! 0-0 ties and 1-0 wins on the best days, but mostly 1-0 losses playing boring ineffective defensive soccer. Let’s see if he can make it through an entire season like this. Last year he reverted but had the courage through GBS to go back to an offensive system and he had his best year as a coach.

I still maintain the attendance will be really bad this year. You could see it coming. Can teams like Dallas survive even in a SSS with crowds well under 10,000? Was this another week of “bad weather and NFL and U.S. National Team games?”

  12. “Wow, so do my Sounders have to do anything else at this point to prove they’re BY FAR the best team in the league?”

3 games isnt enough to see any huge gap between teams at the top. They’re surely on the level with the other playoff contenders at this point, but ‘BY FAR’ is impossible to achieve after so few games.

  13. Impressive performance by the Sounders, but we’re only 3 weeks in. I’m still not entirely sold on them (yet!). They are very impressive in the opening few games, and we’ll see if they can keep that success going?

I certainly hope the other teams get their s**t together. And you fans too. Attendance at non-Seattle-Toronto games has been pathetic.

  15. Sounders supporters should be happy. I hope they play Chicago still undefeated. Then the 2 undefeated squads will meet and the Sounders will realize they aren’t half the squad the Fire are.

    HaHa.

It’s pointless to watch any games because nobody is gonna beat the Fire in the playoffs.

    Nobody.
