Spain has named its 23-man roster for the Confederations Cup and the team is as stacked as ever.
The European champions' roster includes Xavi, Andres Iniesta, Gerard Pique and Carles Puyol, all of which played last week when Barcelona blanked Manchester United in the UEFA Champions League final. Spain has also summoned Sergio Ramos, Fernando Torres and Iker Casillas to try and capture the Confederations Cup.
One player not on the roster is injured midfielder Marcos Senna, who starred for Spain in the European Championships.
Here is Spain's full roster:
Goalkeepers (3): Iker Casillas (Real Madrid), Jose Reina (Liverpool), Diego Lopez (Villarreal);
Defenders (7): Raul Albiol (Valencia), Alvaro Arbeloa (Liverpool ), Joan Capdevila (Villarreal), Carlos Marchena (Valencia), Gerard Pique (Barcelona), Carles Puyol (Barcelona), Sergio Ramos (Real Madrid),
Midfielders (9): Xabi Alonso, (Liverpool), Sergi Busquets (Barcelona), Santi Cazorla (Villarreal), Cesc Fabregas (Arsenal), Xavi (Barcelona), Andres Iniesta (Barcelona), David Silva (Valencia), Juan Manuel Mata (Valencia), Albert Riera (Liverpool);
Forwards (4): Daniel Guiza (Fenerbache), Fernando Llorente (Athletic Bilbao), Fernando Torres (Liverpool), David Villa (Valencia).

What do you think of Spain's roster? Any omissions/inclusions you are surprised by? Think the U.S. has a chance against the European champs if the two teams meet in the knockout rounds?

Just think, Messi could have played for Spain, living there since age 12.

It bears repeating that Spain fears Freddy.
If it is any consolation, having to play them means that we somehow got out of our group, which in turn means we got a result against either Brazil or Italy and most likely beat Eygpt. If that is how this tourney goes for us, I will be pleased.
It’s a great opportunity for the US to play vs the best.
This Spanish team can play vs a defensive team – see Spain v Italy in the Euros. Also good luck on ever getting the ball when you play vs Spain.
Xavi will most definitely play in the middle, most likely with Alonso and maybe Cesc. Iniesta may not be fit enough to play in the tourney.
Lucky for Spain, they don’t have another WC qualifier until September.
Such a classy squad.
It doesn’t look that Fabregas will break into the starting line-up they’re so strong in mid field.
Torres/Villa up front. Best strike duo in the world. Llorente is progressing and Guiza is pretty damn good. Krkic will probably make the WC roster as a sub.
Spain has now displaced Brazil as my second favorite team. Viva espania!!!
