AC Milan has rejected a hefty offer from an unidentified English club for striker Alexandre Pato.
Pato raised doubts about his future weeks ago with comments about possibly leaving the club, but Milan appears determined to keep the Brazilian forward as the club has turned down a huge offer from an English Premier League team.
Reports suggest that Chelsea are the unidentified club with former AC Milan manager Carlo Ancelloti now in charge of the Blues. Ancelotti has been linked with a plethora of his former players since being hired by Chelsea so it would come as no surprise if he made a bid for Pato.
Here are more transfer stories to get you up to speed with what's been going on during the silly season:
Tevez favoring City move
Carlos Tevez could soon be donning the baby blue of Manchester City.
According to Tevez's advisor, Kia Joorabchian, the Argentine striker is leaning towards signing with the Citizens due to their ambitious attempts to build a big club. Tevez recently rejected a lucrative Manchester United offer, stating that it was made too late.
Tevez also has offers from Chelsea and one other unnamed club and is expected to make a decision in the next "ten days".
Albiol agrees to terms with Real Madrid
Real Madrid has continued their spending ways as they agreed to terms with Valencia defender Raul Albiol on Thursday.
Although the exact transfer fee has not been released, reports suggest that Madrid will pay around £12.8 million ($17.9 million) for the centerback.
Albiol, currently on international duty with Spain at the Confederations Cup, will undergo a medical with Madrid next week. If passed, Albiol will finalize a five-year deal with the club.
Panathinaikos close to Cisse deal
Djibril Cisse appears to be on his way out of Marseille as Greek club Panathinaikos have agreed to a deal for the French international.
Cisse is expected to travel to Greece within the coming days and if all goes well, he will sign with the club that is reportedly willing to pay an estimated £8 million ($11.2 million) for his services.
Cisse spent the past season on loan with English Premier League club Sunderland and scored 11 goals with the club.

Think Pato is will stay with Milan by summer's end? Where will Tevez wind up? Is Albiol the type of defender Real Madrid needs? Should Cisse stay in England?

12 for Albiol seems great in comparison to 18 for Glen Johnson to liverpool..hes good but not 18 million good..i wouldve said around 10-11 at best for Johnson
Spain still has the 3rd place game to play, so Albiol is still on national team duty.

Normally I’d agree with you, SDM, but Pato played like crap. I saw him in the warmup game against Canada in Edmonton and had to wonder what all the fuss was about. Will Johnson, of all people, played him into the ground.
Maybe, knowing where he was going, he wasn’t that moivated for the u20s. But he certainly didn’t look special.
Sonic – you beat me to it, and I agree
I dream of the day Everton opens up their wallets and buys a world-class striker in his prime like Tevez.
Just imagine what Tevez could do for Everton. A Champions League spot next season would be much, much more feasible.
“Albiol, currently on international duty with Spain at the Confederations Cup,”
No he’s not….LOL!
Good Replacement for Pepe… what a headcase he became at the end of last year. Real/Barcelona games MUST be broadcast this year by ESPN in the US after they signed that rights deal.

Man U is my favorite team and I’m somewhat sad to see him go, but I would find great pleasure if Tevez went to Man City and was not gauranteed to start every game, especially if they add yet another striker in addition to himself and Santa Cruz. After all, that was one of the main reasons he decided to leave Man U…
yup, Espana confirmed that players are overpriced and GMs should not shell out too much for ’em. i recommend GMs go for whole players, not cocky-ass-overvalued david villas! ahaaaa
I wish I understood this better. It seems like everyone at Unitd wanted to keep Tevez, and it seems like Tevez wanted to stay.
But I got the impression that in order to sign Tevez to a monster deal that £30 million was going into his agent’s pocket. I admit I don’t fully understand the situation, but if he signs with City will he be signed to them, i.e. “owned” by them as we always say? Because it’s very clear that right now apparently no club owns the player, nor did one when he was playing for Unitd. Right? Ugh.
i heard earlier this year about onyewu and fullham. would be interesting if both onyewu and altiodre went to craven cottage, restablishing fulhamerica
Real needs Onyewu and Demerit 🙂
And to think that after the U20 cup in Canada several were claiming that Freddy Adu was a greater talent than Pato…
