Yeah, Napoli is missing Quags. With Europa League, a series of mid-week league matches and Coppa Italia next year–Napoli needs to bulk up their depth in the transfer period. Bringing out Cavani, Lavezzi, and Hamsik twice a week isn’t going to work. Each of the last two seasons January-March has sunk Napoli’s Champion’s League hopes (resulting in two sacked coaches). I’m hoping they can avoid the slump this year.
Cavani is a monster. At first my heart sank when I learned that Napoli were going to loan out Fabio Quagliarella to Juventus to make room (financially and otherwise) for Cavani. Their decision has been magnificently vindicated (although Quagliarella is having a phenomenal season as well.)
There was another game that Napoil won in the dying seconds this year, in similar fashion, on a fast break up the field. That earlier call was a little better, especially because he sounded like he really meant the “Mamma Mia”…..
I think the clip missed the part that made the play – the build up coming from a goal line save in injury time, before racing down to the other end and hammering home from range.
What do you mean, “its italy”? If anything, you should know that gives them defensive credibility. Must not watch too much.
He beat a bunch of guys, wouldnt have mattered if they were italian or brazilian or spanish or dutch. Its tough to stop Cavani, believe it or not. Must be the whole “he’s easily one of the best strikers in the world” thing.
The defensive midfielder underestimated him, by taking a jab at his run instead of squaring up, and then the other defenders all expected him to pass rather than take the shot. So we have a domino effect of people coming in way to late to halt his slalom.
Keep in mind, he looks a good 6 yards outside the box. I put this one down to great offense.
Now Blackburn conceding 5 goals to Manchester United a few weeks ago– that looked like a bookmaker’s match if I ever saw one.
I remember Cavani from when he starred for Uruguay’s ’07 U20s. He and Freddy Adu were regarded as the top talents in that tournament, but Adu came out on top when the USA beat Uruguay in the knockout stage. Been wondering when Cavani would start to make his mark. This is his second wonder goal this year.
So, now, the question is – which language/country has the best announcers? That’s pretty complicated, with varying idiomatic expressions. Excitement-wise, I’m only familiar with Spanish – particularly Mexican Spanish speakers. This guy is pretty good too though…!
It’s Italy, not referring to the bride comment but the comical defending. I’ve never been able to understand their spacing concepts. Last week allowing Ibra lots of time in the 18 yard box. I don’t get it, if you can explain please do.

Ad-WHO?
Hi all, im italian.
This announcer is a Napoli fan maybe working for a local tv.
I must say: drunked & unprofessional.

You need to watch more Napoli games.
I liked the commentary apart from the GOL GOL GOL GOL thing.
He really does.

Hey — I love a that “Mamma Mia”

And some of you jerks think WPS is boring. Ha!
Understated commentary at it’s best.
now THAT’S how you call a game!
Sorry….a guy screams GOl Gol Gol GOl GOl GOl over and over again doesn’t mean he is a good commentator. IMO
We need passionate commentators like that on FSC and ESPN
Comparable to Desean Jackson against the Giants. But anyway, this is why I love soccer.
That’s cold blooded, bro… but funny, very funny!
I think you’re way off.

Agreed, the 30 seconds I watched made my want to kill myself
Great goal and great call.
Personally thought Di Maria’s game-winner took much more skill.
And Adu is now on the side of a milk carton.
They should’ve show the whole sequence in order. There was a goal line clearance at the other end moments before the goal.
I remember Cavani from when he starred for Uruguay’s ’07 U20s. Glad I watched til the end. It was mystifying why the commentators were already so excited even before the goal was scored.
Great goal. However, the dude looks just like Richard Ramirez. The strangler from LA.
Most exciting thing I have seen come out of Serie A in a while.
The guy made a great run. And you must have missed both defenders trying to get in at the ball, it was just better offense.
All goals are a result of better offense then defense, don’t discredit because a guy made someone look foolish.
+1
This guy should have been calling the USA vs. Algeria World Cup game.

Were the defenders bribed? They made little attempt to stop the guy.
Is this guy happy or is he getting tortured?
These announcers are much more exciting than American ones
