Where will you be watching Real Salt Lake vs. Monterrey?

The biggest game in American club soccer history takes place in Sandy, Utah, tonight, when Real Salt Lake tries to hold on to or build off of its 2-2 draw at Monterrey in the second leg of the CONCACAF Champions League final at Rio Tinto Stadium (10 p.m., Fox Soccer Channel/Telefutura).

With an aggregate-goal victory, RSL would become the first Major League Soccer team to win the Champions League since it changed to the group-stage/knockout-stage format. A win would also secure a berth in December's FIFA Club World Cup, which would be another first for an MLS club.

You might want to commemorate a game of this magnitude by watching it somewhere special. Know of any bars or restaurants in your city hosting a watch party? Are you hosting a watch party at your place (and would you mind if random SBI readers showed up)? Plan on just catching it from the sofa?

Where will you be watching tonight's game?

  1. Anybody know of a good place in West Los Angeles?

I can’t believe LA doesn’t have a good spot to watch USA National team matches and games like this one.

I’ve been to the Cock N’ Bull on Lincoln in Venice and Ye Old King’s Head in Santa Monica on 2nd street, but these tend to be very pro-English and not necessarily pro-American.

I heard about The Parlor in West Hollywood on Melrose as well. I went to the USA vs. Ghana game there and it was amazing, but I don’t think it’s real soccer pub.

Can’t someone open a pro-soccer pub in this town?! Geesh!

  2. At home on FSC while doing laundry and other crap. Will be glued to the tube cheering on RSL. Although I’m a Quakes fan, RSL is a fun team to watch and definitely worth cheering for. I wish them CL success!

  3. I have to choose between Fox Soccer in standard def and English, or Telefutura in HD and Spanish. I’m leaning towards Telefutura because “GOOOOOOOOL” is the universal language.

  4. Sounds like Kitty O’Shea’s is the place to go in the DC area, but I’d like something closer to home here in the city. If anyone knows of any other bar showing the game, let me know. Otherwise, it’s likely going to be at concacaf.com

  5. At my house in Newport News, VA in standard definition thanks to Cox not getting FSC HD. If anyone has a better place in Southeastern VA, let me know.
