Must-See Goal: Eric Hassli

  1. Watching from home ( SSFC fan ) I just had to shake my head & say “well done”. GOTY. Unless Djibril Cisse actually comes & try’s to one up him. Only a handful of guys in MLS could even come close to that strike must less even attempt it. Sad I wasn’t there in person to see it.

  2. Phenomenal goal. He could try that 100 more times and not come close. And why limit it to consideration for MLS goal of the year? If there was such a thing as world goal of year, that strike would have to be in the running.

  3. Yeah, right. We all know someone will come along and bicycle-kick one in from 10 yards out and that will somehow win.

  4. definitely better than agudelos, and unless someone pulls a bicycle, it’ll probably be goal of the year. Unbelievable placement and touch, I have to give it to him.

  5. Yes that’s both hands down goal of the week and goal of the year! While we’re at it, minus well give player of the week honors to San Jose’s Lenhart for scoring 3 goals and assisting on another goal against DC. Very exciting action from the MLS this week so far.

  6. C’mon you have to be kidding. Yes if the offense was attacking, maybe, you can say he was in the wrong position but this was a complete mistake by the defense and no way you can say this was Keller’s fault. And proper position is always closer to near post, which he was, than far post as I think you are suggesting

  7. Keller almost had it, and would have, had he been in the proper position for a shot like thatwhen the ball was kicked: i.e. standing at the far post with his hands up.

  8. This Timbers fan has that up at goal of the year regardless of affiliation; an amazing hit off the full volley. Show me any international player who wouldn’t be proud of that…

  9. The soccer equivalent of a hole in one. Sometimes you just get lucky and there’s not a darn thing anyone can do about it.

  10. Wow. That’s one of the best goals I can remember in MLS. I love Keller’s little half-smile at the end. There’s not much else you can do at that point.

  11. Sounders fan, just got home from Qwest. Thought the Sounders played a little flat, but credit to Hassli, that was goal of the year, jesus. Everyone in the stadium was in awe of that goal…
