Must-See Trailer: We The Pharaohs

Bob Bradley's task at attempting to guide Egypt to the World Cup something unlike any other challenge an American soccer coach has faced around the world. Considering the state of the sport in Egypt following the riots at Port Said this past February and how the national team can be used as a rallying point for Egyptian people, Bradley's task is about more than just simple wins and losses.

The former U.S. men's national team coach's quest is being tracked in a documentary called "We The Pharaohs," which is being shot by filmmaker Jeffrey Plunkett, one of Bradley's former players at Princeton. Here is the trailer for the early parts of the film, which will be completed next fall and is scheduled to be released in the spring of 2014. Enjoy:

  1. Not hard to see how this man was able to motivate our guys to punch above their weight so often. Many didn’t like him because he was quiet and not much for cameras and interviews. Bradley was about the business of the game. Now we’ve got a windbag at the helm that loves the sound and smell of his own BS. Save us…

  2. The Bradley’s are true American Heros. Father and Son doing big things abroad. I really hope they qualify, and I think it’s likely. They have one of the more talented African sides.

  3. This story begs to be told. And it will attract a broader audience than football diehards. Bob Bradley finds himself at the flash point of football, politics and history. Ooooh, I cannot wait.

  4. Bob Bradley has always been a man that resembles a militant & steady aura.

He’s literally, the perfect man for this job, at this time. Egypt is lucky.

  5. This is a great story to be told. Lets hope they qualify. It will be great for that country and for a classy Bob Bradley. You may not have always agreed with his coaching decisions but he is a good man.

  6. “Football’s not a matter of life and death….it’s more important than that” Bill Shankly said that.

Love stories like this, where football is more, so much more.
