Clint Dempsey made his return to MLS almost seven years after leaving for Europe, and he did so as the highest paid player in the league.
In Episode 63 of The SBI Show, we discuss Dempsey’s Seattle Sounders debut, as well as the recently released list of MLS salaries. A list Dempsey now stands on top of.
Co-host Garrett Cleverly and I also take a look at MLS Week 24; as well as a good weekend for Americans Abroad. We also answer listener questions in the latest SBI Show Q&A.

Good show gents. Best of luck finding a sponsor, you deserve it. Happy travels.
Crack is whack, Ives: you can get much better value for money with defenders–you are leaving win-production on the table if you get a DP CB.
Great show, guys. I hope you have safe travels abroad and back…
I find a lot of positive responses when I tell people overseas that I like MLS. Most people knew David Beckham was playing in MLS. British fans seem to usually have some knowledge of MLS. I was in Russia and mentioned MLS and a guy told me, “I like Dee-NAH-moh Houston!” Speaking with him he was obviously not a die-hard fan, but I think once MLS improves the quality it will be very marketable internationally. Everyone in the world wears NY Yankees gear just because they want something that says New York. I think New York FC gear will sell well.
