With Chivas USA likely to be sold and rebranded following the conclusion of the 2014 MLS season, rookie Kris Tyrpak gave the fans a late-season moment to savor.
Tyrpak produced a top-class goal just seconds after entering the match as a substitute, helping tie the game in Chivas USA’s eventual 2-1 victory over the Colorado Rapids. Tyrpak’s brilliant goal and performance off the bench earned him SBI MLS Rookie of the Week.
Receiving a looping clearance with his back to goal, Tyrpak evaded three Rapids players closing in on him, turned toward goal, and slalomed through another three defenders before finishing clinically and running away to the delight of his teammates and fans.
Tyrpak beat out Steve Birnbaum and Whitecaps Homegrown signing Kianz Froese for this week’s honor.

This isn’t the CUSA rookie who started well, but then got hurt early in the season, is it?
No, you’re thinking of McNamara who is believe tore something.
Ah yeah, thanks.
