Jurgen Klinsmann has made it clear that he is unafraid to shake things up when it comes to naming rosters for U.S. Men’s National Team friendlies, and the team’s upcoming clash with Mexico gives the head coach that exact opportunity.

The USMNT is set to take on Mexico on April 15 and will feature nearly a full roster of MLS and Liga MX-based talent. With that criteria, Klinsmann has some interesting possibilities at hand and could possibly opt to get a closer look at a few uncapped prospects.

Klinsmann could opt for a couple late-bloomers like Ike Opara, who has inserted himself into the national team debate with a stellar start to the season with Sporting KC. Additionally, the USMNT head coach could use the friendly as a chance to throw some young stars, like Harry Shipp, into the fire against an always tough Mexico team.

Regardless, Klinsmann surely has some decisions on hand with regards to his potential roster. What uncapped player would you like to see Klinsmann call up? Cast your vote after the jump:

  1. Wish there was a “none” option as I’d love to see Jurgen develop a consistent identify for this team rather than overdo this open competition philosophy.

Ideally, I’d leave Shipp alone until he jumps across the pond (or — if he stays home — at least begins to draw some international interest). None of these other players really do much for me.

    • I love Serna and he scores some incredible goals. But it’s hard to say he deserves a chance more than Dillon Powers. That guy is Premier League quality

  2. Chris you know its true, i already know why the coach of the USA national is bringing in these young players that have no real talent, and most of the young players that get called inn from Europe don’t even play in the first teams, its all about selling the untalented players out of mls or bringing the Americans in from Europe, but the real talent in american league are the ones that are closed off , hidden, need to be kept in mls to grow the sport, looks like theirs still too many players coming in the mls with rich family’s behind them to get them where ever they need them to go, it happens with a growing mls!!!!

    • Yeah, because Klinsy has Done soooooo much to help MLS; I can totally see him being a part of a crazy scheme to sell mediocre players and keep the best talent in MLS. I mean, I bet he even told Dom Kinnear to bench Tommy Thompson before Europe comes calling!

  3. This looks like a joke!!!! Harry shipp, looks like America never wants to bring in real talent to the national level Because some player dont want to lose there spots on the team from better players like, Kelyn Rowe(center mid), Tony Tchani(dcm), Dilly Duka(attacking center mid), it also looks like chicago needs harry shipp to be call in so they can make some cash on him by saling him to a club in europe because he has nothing going for him with chicago!!!!!!!

  4. Call in a few! I know Herrera is only calling like 2-3 players with only 10 or more caps. The rest are less than 10. No point in starting regular starters that Klinsi is already sure of going to the GC. Why not look for a few more new heads to add to the GC roster?
