In his most recent match versus the Philadelphia Union, Kei Kamara suited up for the 200th time in MLS and led Columbus Crew SC to a dominant 4-1 win, scoring a goal and bagging an assist. That’s nothing new; he’s been doing that all month.

The Crew SC forward lit up the scoreboard in April, scoring a league-leading four goals in the second month of MLS, which earned the rangy forward recognition as SBI MLS Player of the Month. Kamara helped lead his side to an undefeated month, as Crew SC drew the first two matches and pummeled Orlando City SC and the Union in recent weeks.

Kamara was not only a threat to score but also a team player, claiming two assists in April, which helped him narrowly beat out Sporting Kansas City playmaker Benny Feilhaber and New England Revolution defender Andrew Farrell for April’s honors.

What did you think of Kamara’s play in the month of April? Which player stood out to you last month?

  1. So, Kai has scored 5 goals in 7 games? Nice job to him. How many has the next guy scored? I don’t know because I use the MLS mobile app for iPhone, and there ain’t no stats on there!
