SBI College Soccer Top 25 (Sept. 4 Edition)

_PG23947

It was a rough opening weekend for the Georgetown Hoyas. Ranked No. 1 in the SBI Preseason Top 25, the Hoyas went down to Florida and had a tough go in difficult weather conditions. The result was a tie against Florida Gulf Coast and loss to South Florida that leaves Georgetown playing catch-up with the rest of the nation’s powerhouses.

UCLA jumps into the top spot in the new rankings after opening its campaign with a victory. Defending NCAA champions Virginia also moved up after starting the season with a solid 1-0 victory against Charlotte.

The first rankings of the season sees several teams jump into the Top 25, including South Florida, the highest-rated newcomer, as well as San Diego and UCSB, which both posted major victories.
