With the Under-17 World Cup less than a month away, U.S. Under-17 Men’s National Team head coach Richie Williams has one more opportunity to get a closer look at potential roster selections.
New York Cosmos forward Haji Wright and FC Dallas midfielder Alejandro Zendejas are among 24 players that will take part in the final U-17 training camp ahead of October’s World Cup in Chile. The U.S. is set to convene in Mexico City before taking on Mexico Wednesday and Friday.
Williams’ roster is entirely North American-based, as the likes of Borussia Dortmund’s Christian Pulisic, Fulham’s Luca de la Torre and West Brom’s Dann Barbir are not included.
The upcoming slate of games are the U.S.’s first since taking second at the 2015 Limoges Tournament in France earlier this month by tying France, 0-0, and defeating Australia, 6-0.
The U.S. will kick off the U-17 World Cup on Oct. 17 in a matchup with Nigeria before taking on Croatia and hosts Chile on Oct. 20 and 23, respectively.

@beto did you see the same roster? clearly FC Dallas academy rules!!
not a lot unga bunga africans which is a good sign. They are always overhyped at this age because physically mature faster.
US Soccer is learning
There is a need to look a little harder elsewhere, like San Jose. They have a good program
almost exclusively NY and LA, especially in the midfield & forwards.
Kudos to Zendy, kid’s got a bright future even if it’s only as an MLS standout.
