Danny Williams will not be the only U.S. midfielder at Reading FC these next couple of weeks, as Dillon Powers started a trial at the English Championship side.

The Colorado Rapids announced that the 24-year-old midfielder has joined Reading for a two-week trial, which started on Sunday.

In 32 appearances for the Rapids this season, Powers scored three goals and assisted a team-leading six times. Powers was also previously honored as the 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year.

“This is a good opportunity for Dillon to test himself alongside quality players and, we believe, another indication of our ability to develop talent. We wish Dillon the best of luck,” vice president of soccer operations and technical director Paul Bravo said.

Reading currently has one active U.S. international on the senior squad in Williams, and the club is sitting in eighth on the Football League Championship table after amassing 24 points through 16 games.

  1. Interesting. Not sure how he would fit in with the club. Personally I don’t see them picking him up but I would love to see another American at the club. Don’t forget Novakovich is also at Reading FC. Dual national but has featured for the US U-17,U-18 and U-20.
