Greg Garza’s time with Atlas was riddled with injury, but now the U.S. Men’s National Team fullback will look to get back on track with a return from his loan spell.
Atlas announced on Thursday that Garza will return to parent club Tijuana ahead of the Liga MX Clausura season, which is set to kick off Jan. 8. In total, Garza played just three games for Atlas after undergoing surgery on a hip injury in September that was expected to keep him out for four-to-five months.
Both Atlas and Tijuana struggled mightily in the Apertura campaign, finishing 16th and 17th, respectively.
Garza, who has earned nine caps for the USMNT, has made 64 appearances and scored three goals since joining Tijuana in 2012. In returning to Xolos, Garza reunites with fellow Americans Michael Orozco, Paul Arriola, Alejandro Guido and Esteban Rodriguez, while fellow American Joe Corona has yet to return from his loan spell with Veracruz.
What do you expect from Garza now that he has returned to Tijuana? How will he fare upon his return form injury?
