The SBI Live Q&A is back as the offseason continues through the month of January.

It’s time to talk all things soccer in the latest SBI Q&A, where I field soccer-related questions for the next few hours.

With the first half of the 2016 MLS Draft in the books, I’m sure many of you will want to discuss the two rounds that went down on Tuesday. Want to talk MLS? Have a question about the U.S. Men’s National Team? Want to talk pop culture, perhaps a TV-related question? You name it, we’ll talk about it for the next few hours.

Get your questions ready and join me here:

  1. I just wanted to clarify. On my question about Zelalem, I mis-typed. I was saying that I cant imagine him pushing for a spot on Arsenal despite 1 year in D2 Scotland. I’m not on his hype train.

    • he won’t break into the arsenal midfield anytime soon, he is also behind a few other projects and it seems like they see him as a deep laying playmaker, a position that arsenal doesn’t use.

  2. Have you heard any rumblings about MLS upping the salary cap? Some of the players that are being talked about for some of the teams which already have their complement of DP’s makes me wonder how they can fit under the existing cap. Are teams acting on the expectation of a larger cap?

    • Some teams are using Targeted Allocation monies to pay some of their players a little extra in order to retain them. If they spread it across multiple players they can get a fairly good bang for their buck….unlike LA who dumped all their money into Omar last season in order to add a 4th DP.
