NASL Ticker: Kranjcar, Rayo OKC, Rowdies and more

The New York Cosmos have added a major name for a preseason training stint, while several other NASL clubs have added to their ranks as we move closer towards the preseason.

Croatian international Niko Kranjacar has joined the Cosmos for preseason training in an effort to maintain fitness. The former Tottenham midfielder is currently a free agent after most recently featuring for Dynamo Kyiv and Queens Park Rangers. (REPORT)

Former Portuguese national team goalkeeper Daniel Fernandes has signed with Rayo OKC. The 32-year-old goalkeeper was part of Portugal’s roster for the 2010 World Cup and was a member of the San Antonio Scorpions last year under now-Rayo OKC coach Alen Marcina. (REPORT)

Rayo OKC has also announced the club’s preseason schedule, which includes matches against the USL’s new San Antonio club, St. Louis FC, the Jacksonville Armada and fellow expansion side Miami FC. (REPORT)

The New York Cosmos have revealed that long time college coach Fernando Barboto will take charge of Cosmos B. The move comes one year after the club’s reserve squad won the NPSL title under Alecko Eskandarian, who will focus primarily on the first team this season. (REPORT)

The Tampa Bay Rowdies have signed Bundesliga veteran Michael Langer. The Austrian goalkeeper most recently featured for Norwegian side Vålerengens IF. (REPORT)

Former University of South Florida and Florida International University midfielder Roberto Alterio has joined Miami FC. (REPORT)

Ottawa Fury FC have added a pair of Canadians with the signings of midfielder Mozzi Gyorio and goalkeeper Andrew MacRae. (REPORT)

Goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock and midfielder Juliano Vicentini will return to Minnesota United for the 2016 season. (REPORT)

  1. Kranjar was an excellent player a few years back. I remember he was Harry Rednapp’s darling and he brought him wherever he went, even to Tottenham…
