After Ola Kamara’s performance over the weekend, Columbus Crew fans could soon forget about the recent exit of another striker that shares the surname.

Not only did Kamara net his first MLS goal against Real Salt Lake, but the 26-year-old went on to record a hat trick in the process. The forward’s brilliance led to Kamara to honors as SBI MLS Player of the Week.

An early deficit for the Crew didn’t shake Kamara or his side, as he and his team went on to score four unanswered goals. Kamara netted goals in the 17th, 64th and 74th minute marks, two of which were powerful headers that RSL goalkeeper Nick Rimando couldn’t keep out.

Kamara’s fantastic performance against RSL earned the striker honors as SBI MLS Player of the week over Bradley Wright-Phillips and Kevin Molino.

What did you think of Kamara’s performance? Which player stood out to you over the weekend?

  1. He easily should have had at least two more as well. Very happy to see our offense put together a very strong game! Now, about our CB problem…
