SBI College Soccer Top 25: Sept. 16th Edition

Notre Dame knocked off yet another ranked opponent, and the strongest start in the nation has been rewarded with the top spot in the latest SBI college soccer rankings.

North Carolina’s upset loss to East Tennessee State on Tuesday, coupled with Notre Dame’s midweek win against UConn, helped propel the Fighting Irish to the top spot, ahead of Syracuse. The two ACC powerhouses will square off in a week, but they each face ranked opponents this weekend and can’t afford to look past them.

Loyola of Chicago was the biggest mover into the Top 25, debuting at No. 21 with a 5-0 record that includes a win against highly-regarded Utah Valley.

Stanford has started to turn things around after its rocky start, and the defending champions looked poised for a strong run in Pac-12 play.
