A number of Top 25 schools went down this weekend as Maryland stayed on top of the NCAA men’s soccer rankings.
SBI No. 1 Maryland edged Hofstra with a 2-1 win on Friday. Alex Crognale scored both goals in the match.
While No. 6 Duke withstood Notre Dame in double overtime, Pittsburgh claimed a big result by keeping No. 5 Virginia to a scoreless draw. Elsewhere, No. 11 Creighton fell to unranked Villanova, while No. 20 Radford and No. 22 UNC-Wilmington also fell to unranked teams. A week after challenging Maryland to overtime, Wisconsin claimed a scoreless draw from No. 8 Indiana.
Out West, No. 10 Stanford topped No. 19 UCLA in a clash of Pac-12 contenders, while No. 3 North Carolina claimed the Coastal Division title in the ACC with a win over Virginia Tech.
